Introducing Velvet Veil

We've got you covered with our skin products, now we've got you covered with our brand new Invisible powder, Velvet Veil!

This universal, finely milled, weightless powder comes in a stunning Rose Gold compact with a mirror and features an easy-to-use open & close function inside, to ensure you don’t lose or waste too much of the product when you take it with you on the go.

Good-For-You because..

As with all of our Sculpted products, our number one priority is Good-For-You, Skin loving ingredients, and Velvet Veil is no exception. It was so important to Aimee to be able to create a powder that could control oil and mattify the skin, but without ever looking cakey, dry or flat. We obviously had to stick to our mineral roots and after many trials and tests of different formulas, we finally found our winner.

For hydration: we added Hyaluronic acid, which is a hero hydrating ingredient that works to bring water to the surface of the skin, allowing it to appear more fresh, glowing and youthful. This means that even the driest skin can still feel comfortable wearing Velvet Veil.

To blur pores & imperfections: we added Silica. This mineral ingredient works to absorb oil & blur the skin, preventing that powdered cakey look and instead leaving a soft focus, velvety finish on the skin.

To soothe: we added some Cica, which is gentle enough to use on all skin types and can help to calm irritated skin. This is perfect for anyone with breakout prone or sensitive skin.

To control shine & target texture: we added Niacinamide. This targets enlarged pores that can let out too much sebum, which in turn leads to excessive shine. You’ll usually find these types of pores in the t-zone, and sometimes on the cheeks. We added Niacinamide into Velvet Veil so that we could ensure the skin would be kept feeling matte while still looking radiant.

The beauty of Velvet Veil is that it’s a mineral formula and completely talc free, meaning you never have to worry about it clogging your pores or clinging to any dehydrated/dry areas like a lot of talc based powders can do.

This is your healthy powder alternative for mopping up oil, controlling shine and keeping your makeup in place.

Every great powder needs a great brush..

We have also launched our new Set & Perfect brush, which is the perfect partner to Velvet Veil. This soft and fluffy brush is made of synthetic hair making it completely vegan and cruelty free.

Finished with a luxurious rose gold handle, this is the kind of brush you want to take out of your bag to touch up with. It’s dome shape helps you to easily glide powder into any little areas of the face necessary. It also works great for blending creams, liquids and really anything at all so we’d suggest stocking up on this one.

How to use Velvet Veil:

There are many ways to use a setting powder, and for this one we would suggest not following the rules and just applying in a way that is going to suit your own skin.

For example:

Oily Skin- Those that produce a lot of oil and tend to shine all over, will probably find Velvet Veil works best when applied all over the skin, right after you have applied your base products, foundation, concealers & any other creams. This will help to mattify the skin and

allow any more powder products, like bronzer and blusher, to blend effortlessly on top.

Combination Skin- if you have a mixture of skin types and tend to only shine in certain areas, like the t-zone, then use Velvet Veil to set those areas only. Apply a small amount of powder using the Set & Perfect brush to the shiniest areas, right after you have applied your base products.

Dry Skin- They say dry skin doesn’t need any powder, but what if you want to make sure your dewy, Hydrating products stay in place? For this one we would suggest finishing your makeup routine with Velvet Veil by applying it to the selected areas of your face where you know your makeup tends to rub off throughout the day. Usually, this would be under the eyes, around the sides of the nose and on the chin.

Top Tip for Velvet Veil- make sure to close the lid inside once you are finished, this will keep you from losing any of your powder on the go.

That’s the lowdown on Velvet Veil,  our newest addition to the Sculpted Skin family and we just can’t wait to hear what you think of it!
