Get The Look - The VIPs

This weeks #GetTheLook is based on my makeup look from the VIP Style Awards! This is always such a fun night and the style was amazing this year! I wore a soft grey dress and paired it with cerise pink accessories, so I mirrored this with my makeup look!

Prep

I used Beauty Base (of course!) for my base and to prep my skin for makeup. You can see from the pics that there is no flashback! Lot's of people almost have a fear that SPF causes flashback but you can read the myths about Flashback here! SPF is such an important part of your daily skin routine as it protects your skin not just from the Sun but also from pollution which can clog up pores.

Foundation

For my foundation I used the MAC Studio Fix Foundation and buffed this onto my face using the buffer brush! This is a medium to full coverage foundation and it really does last for the night so you don't have to worry about topping it up or it sliding off. It's a great foundation isn't drying either. For my under eye concealer I used Urban Decay Naked Skin, which I just tapped into my skin underneath the eye covering any dark circles.

I popped a little dusting of Charlotte Tilbury Genius Magic Powder on top with the Perfecter Brush. This helps to keep your makeup in place and gives a little glow too, setting your face for contour.

Eyes

Starting with brows, I used the Benefit Kabrow which is an eyebrow cream gel, and filled in and defined my brows using the definer. Top tip is to always use your spoolie after doing your brows, as it just gives the brows a little tidy up and removes any excess product that you might not need.

I used MAC Painterly to prime my eyes for shadow, just pop it on all over the lid using your ring finger. This helps your shadow stay in place and prevents fall out!

Because I was wearing a soft grey dress, I wanted to play up my eyes using grey tones, so I used MAC Shale all over the lid, working a little MAC Smut into the crease and brought it underneath the eye.

For my liner, I used the Charlotte Tilbury Bedroom Black Liner, this is a really soft pencil liner which is really easy to smudge. I used this for the flick too, blending it out with my angle brush. I also brought this underneath the eye and blended it out with my shadow for a soft and smokey effect.

To finish off the eyes I used a wispy edged kind of strip lash. I love strip lashes when they are lightweight and easy to apply. Once I had these on I didn't feel them for the rest of the night!

Contour

The Custom Edition Palette was used for my contour (are you surprised!!) Using Medium Bronze and my Double Ended Sculpting brush I worked this into the hollows of the cheekbones, starting where the bone meets your ear, and brought it down towards my cheeks. I also dusted this along my hairline, and down the sides of my nose.

Following this I used Pear Pop, the lightest of our cream highlights, along the tips of the cheekbones, and around the temple using my ring finger. This also went down the centre of the nose and along the cupids bow.

Using the opposite end of the double ended brush, I popped Rose Gold Glow powder highlight along the same areas as cream highlight, and I finished off my contour with Pinky Hues blush which I applied to the apples of my cheeks using the setter brush!

Lips

Because I was wearing pink accessories I wanted to do a pinky kind of lip. I used Rose and Bay from the Pink Edition Lip Quad mixed together and I used MAC Myth lipstick, which is a really nude lipstick so you’d definitely need a good lip liner with it. And I used the dealz Ballet Pink Lip gloss to finish off the look!

Hope you enjoyed the edit!

Lots of love,
