Get The Look - Style of the Season

Hello!

We had our first fashion event with stylist Clementine Macneice last night talking all things Autumn / Winter and the core pieces everyone needs in their capsule wardrobe. We had bubbles and treats for everyone who came along and talked through all the fashion and makeup looks for A/W and more so how easy it is to change your look with just a few key accessories and makeup products.

We had the stunning Kelly on board to showcase all the looks and what a dream she is to work with! Today we're going to be going through Kelly's makeup look with a statement red lip!

Base

To prime Kelly's skin for makeup I used Beauty Base all over the skin. I know I'm biased but this really is one of my favourite products ever!! The combination of SPF30 Broad Spectrum and Hyaluronic Acid for hydration really preps and protects the skin and the added golden glow just perfects the base giving a luminous effect to the skin.

I then popped some Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua onto the skin using the Buffer Brush. Kelly has amazing skin so this is a lovely foundation when you don't want to wear anything too heavy and it's also buildable coverage so you can add more on any areas you need it.

Contour

For Kelly's contour I applied Medium Matte Bronzer (the newest bronze to the sculpted range) which has a lovely cool undertone and matte finish, to the cheekbones starting where the cheekbone meets the ear and working along the bone. Using our Double Ended Brush I also popped this around the hairline and down the sides of the nose.

Up next I applied Champagne Cream Highlight to the tips of the cheekbones, down the centre of the nose and cupids bow. I always use my ring finger to apply cream highlight as the heat of our hands helps to warm up the cream making it really easy to apply. Just tap tap tap it along the skin so as not to pull at the skin or take any existing makeup off! It gives the most gorgeous healthy look to the skin and is a firm favourite of mine on all ages!

Using the Setter Brush I applied Sunset Sheen Blush to the apples of the cheeks and worked it slightly back towards the contour so that everything comes together! This is a lovely peachy / pink blush with an added glow that suits every skin tone and can also be worn on the eyes!

Eyes

I primed Kelly's eyes with MAC Painterly Paint Pot, again using my ring finger to apply to the lid. I'm a big believer in priming the eyes with a specific eye primer and this one from MAC is great for helping shadow stay in place, prevents creasing and fallout. I then took my blender brush and applied Medium Matte Bronzer as shadow on the lid and brining it underneath the eye. This is the best brush for getting a quick makeup look on as it fits perfectly into the hollow of the eye and is really easy to move and blend in the shadow.

To add some shimmer I used Peach Gold Glow and applied onto the lid using my ring finger and just blending from the inner corner towards the centre of the eyelid. And to define the eyes slightly I used MAC Black Track and the Angle Brush to do a half flick starting at the centre of the eye along the lash line and bringing the line outwards. To achieve the flick just turn the angle brush around at the last lash and work it back towards the eye. This is a much easier way to achieve some definition without going for the full on liquid liner flick! To finish off the eye makeup look I used Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes, which is a great mascara and works really well when lashes are naturally thick and need the added volume!

And for Kelly's Brows I just popped on some Benefit Gimme Brow, which is the handiest product if you have the brows to work with!

Lips

For this gorgeous statement lip I used Rouge from the Pink Edition Lip Quad and lined just slightly outside the natural lip line staring from the outer corners and working in towards the cupids bow. And for that full on pop of colour I used MAC Ruby Woo which is a highly pigmented matte red. It literally suits every skin tone and is a cult favourite for a reason!!

And there you have it, a simple makeup look paired with a statement lip as the feature.

Hope you loved the edit!
